Wichita man found guilty of 1st-degree murder in 2021 killing of security guard
A Sedgwick County jury found a 44-year-old Wichita man guilty of first-degree murder in the May 2021 shooting death of a security guard outside a downtown Wichita QuikTrip. A Sedgwick County jury has convicted 44-year-old Laroy West of first-degree murder in the May 2021 shooting death of a security guard outside a downtown Wichita QuikTrip. The shooting occurred during a fight outside the convenience store where Robinson asked West to leave. Robinson was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and died two days later. West was also found guilty on two counts of criminal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. The jury also found him not guilty on one count of aggravated assault.

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A Sedgwick County jury found a 44-year-old Wichita man guilty of first-degree murder in the May 2021 shooting death of a security guard outside a downtown Wichita QuikTrip.
Prosecutors said Laroy West shot William Robinson during a fight outside the convenience store located at Murdock and Broadway after Robinson asked West to leave the QuikTrip.
Robinson was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. He died two days later.
Thursday in Sedgwick County District Court, the jury also found West guilty on two counts of criminal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. The jury found him not guilty on one count of aggravated assault.
