Warmer weather today and into the weekend

KWCH Forecast WichitA, Kan. is experiencing a cooler start to the day with wake-up temperatures in the 40s, but bright blue skies, and warmer afternoon highs in the middle to upper 70s are on tap later today. Friday and Saturday promise to be even warmer than today with high temperatures in their upper 70 and lower 80s. A weak cold front will sweep across the state on Saturday, while temps will trend down a tad on Sunday. As warmer air quickly comes back to Kansas on Sunday afternoon and night, a few rain showers are possible, mainly east of a Salina to El Dorado line. Forecast models are suggesting a slow-moving storm system impacting all of Kansas with beneficial rainfall next week. The best bet to get wet takes place Tuesday night through Thursday morning.

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - It is a cooler start to the day with wake-up temperatures in the 40s, but bright blue skies, and warmer afternoon highs in the middle to upper 70s are on tap later today.

Friday and Saturday promise to be even warmer than today with high temperatures in the upper 70s and lower 80s, or 10 to 15 degrees above average. Another weak cold front will sweep across the state on Saturday. While no rain is anticipated with its passage, temps will trend down a tad on Sunday.

As warmer air quickly comes back to Kansas on Sunday afternoon and night, a few rain showers are possible, mainly east of a Salina to El Dorado line. However, nothing heavy nor severe is expected.

Looking ahead… a more pronounced weather pattern change is possible next week. Forecast models are suggesting a slow-moving storm system impacting all of Kansas with beneficial rainfall. While the exact details are uncertain, the best bet to get wet takes place Tuesday night through Thursday morning.
